Hey all, just jumping into this thread because I’ve been messing around with flat betting lately and wanted to hear if anyone’s tried it after getting their account sorted with the bookie. I’ve always been the type to overthink my stakes, chasing hot streaks or cutting back after a loss, but I figured I’d give this a proper go for once. Been sticking to a fixed unit—nothing fancy, just 2% of my bankroll per bet—and I’ve been tracking it over the last couple months, mostly on NBA games since the season’s been heating up.
Started this right after I got my account fully verified, which took a bit longer than I expected with all the ID checks and whatnot. Once that was done, I locked in on a few teams I’d been watching—think along the lines of the Nuggets and Celtics, since their form’s been pretty steady—and kept every bet the same size, win or lose. No doubling up after a big night or panicking when the under hits. First few weeks were shaky, I’ll admit. Dropped a couple early on some tight spreads, but then it started leveling out. Last month I ended up about 5 units up, which isn’t massive, but it’s got me curious.
The thing I’m liking is how it takes the stress out of picking amounts. You just set it and roll with it, no second-guessing. I’ve been digging into box scores and injury reports more too, since the stake’s not the variable anymore—it’s all about the pick. Wondering if anyone else has gone this route after getting their account squared away. Did you stick with it? See any patterns? I’m tempted to keep this going through the playoffs, but I’d love to know how it’s worked for you guys—or if it’s crashed and burned. Thoughts?
